Coronavirus Vaccination Programme Update

Published: 13.04.2021

Vaccination Update 13th April 2021

The Vaccination Programme has reached the stage of administering the first vaccine to cohorts 10 (ages 18-49). This will be done in the Mass Vaccination Centre in Venue Cymru in Llandudno. There will be a two pronged approach to administering first vaccines to this cohort:

Ages 30-49 will be offered AstraZeneca (Oxford) vaccines and these will be given in descending age order starting at aged 49. Patients will receive a letter and / or text messages with their appointment date & time. Patients have been receiving invites for these for the past few weeks.

Ages 18-29 will be offered the Pfizer vaccine following the latest guidance you may have seen in the media. This group will be invited in descending age order, starting at aged 29, beginning week commencing Monday 19th April 2021. This has been done to utilise the Pfizer vaccine currently available.

The Mass Vaccination Centre will continue inviting patients from previous cohorts for their 2nd Vaccine, if the first has been administered in the centre. This will be done within the guidelines set. The surgery have no control over the order or timescale for booking however we are reassured our colleagues are working as fast as they possibly can to vaccinate all patients.

Rysseldene are continuing to recall all patients that received their 1st vaccine in the Surgery. We are working with our District Nurse colleagues and their dedicated vaccination team for our housebound patients.
